We're looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established Group finance team, supporting the business through effective, accurate and commercially minded credit control.
This role plays a key part in managing customer relationships, protecting cash flow and supporting order release acting as a trusted interface between the business and its customers. You'll manage your own ledger, work closely with internal stakeholders, and take real ownership of outcomes.

What you'll be responsible for
Managing outstanding sales balances through proactive customer contact and relationship building
Ensuring timely payments and negotiating repayment plans where required
Authorising orders in line with credit limits and risk appetite
Reviewing new customer applications, assessing creditworthiness and setting limits and terms
Monitoring and reviewing credit limits in line with credit agencies and insurers
Reconciling customer accounts and accurately allocating payments
Managing overdue accounts through structured collection processes, escalating where necessary
Handling dispute management end-to-end with a "right first time" approach
Working to agreed monthly cash collection targets and reconciling daily cash
Keeping knowledge of best practice and business performance up to date
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a Credit Control role
Comfortable managing your own ledger and prioritising workload
Experience with self-billing and high-volume transactions
Confident making a high volume of calls and working to deadlines
Strong dispute resolution skills with a commercial, solutions-focused mindset
Numerate, with the ability to understand and explain financial information clearly
Strong Excel skills (advanced reporting capability an advantage)
ICM qualification or studying towards preferred, but not essential
