We're working with a major UK organisation that's looking for a Assistant Procurement Manager to join their team and help shape strategy across HR & Professional Services. This is a broad and high-impact category covering areas such as consultancy, contingent labour, training, uniforms and travel - an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take ownership and develop in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
You'll be part of a collaborative, commercially driven procurement function, delivering sourcing and supplier management activity that ensures real value and excellent service for internal stakeholders. The role will involve managing key supplier relationships, analysing spend data, and driving end-to-end category plans that deliver tangible commercial benefits.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing categories end to end, from stakeholder engagement through to supplier management
Analysing market, supplier and financial data to identify trends, opportunities and risks
Delivering sourcing activity including tendering, selection, negotiation and contracting
Supporting wider cross-category procurement projects
Running supplier meetings and governance sessions to ensure continued value and performance
We're looking for someone with solid experience across the full procurement lifecycle, ideally from category planning through to supplier management. You'll have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, be confident using Excel, and have the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels. You'll also need to be resilient, proactive, and comfortable managing changing priorities.
This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that values collaboration, flexibility and personal development. The role is based in Manchester city centre and offers a hybrid working model, giving you the chance to balance time in the office with home working.
