Are you an experienced Store Manager, Retail Manager or Assistant Manager with a passion for the outdoors, sport or specialist retail? We're recruiting a Store Manager for a specialist retail business in Reading, offering the opportunity to lead a team, drive sales and deliver an outstanding customer experience.

The Role

As Store Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the Reading store, leading your team, maximising sales and maintaining high standards across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching and developing a team to deliver excellent customer service

• Taking ownership of store sales, KPIs and overall commercial performance

• Driving sales and motivating your team to achieve targets

• Creating an engaging customer experience through product knowledge and expert advice

• Managing rotas, stock control, administration and health and safety

• Maintaining high standards of store presentation and visual merchandising

• Managing colleague performance, training and development

• Building strong customer relationships and encouraging repeat business

• Resolving customer and colleague issues professionally

• Working with the wider management team to achieve business objectives

About You

We're looking for a commercially focused, people-oriented retail manager who leads from the front and enjoys working in an active, specialist retail environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience as a Store Manager, Retail Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or similar

• Strong team leadership and people management skills

• A proven ability to deliver sales targets and improve KPIs

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Good commercial awareness and an organised approach to retail management

• An interest in outdoor activities, sports, leisure or specialist products

• The confidence to engage with customers and develop product knowledge

We're also open to experienced Assistant Managers ready to step up and hospitality managers with strong leadership and commercial experience looking to move into retail.
