BUYING ASSISTANT | RAPIDLY GROWING BRAND | OFFICE BASED | BEAUTY | £28,000-£30,000
We're looking for an organised and commercially minded Buying Assistant to join a fast-growing beauty business and support the Buying team across a broad range of categories.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with Buying, Merchandising, E-commerce, NPD and suppliers to make sure products move smoothly from development through to launch. It's a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career within Buying and gain broad exposure to the full product lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with NPD teams to support the development of commercially viable products.
Researching market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Managing the critical path and ensuring key deadlines are met.
Requesting and checking product information, pricing and specifications from suppliers.
Creating and processing purchase orders.
Tracking orders, shipments and delivery dates, proactively chasing updates where required.
Supporting the setup and maintenance of product information, including SKUs, descriptions and barcodes.
Working closely with Merchandising and E-commerce to ensure products launch on time and are ready to trade.
Producing weekly sales reports and monitoring product performance.
Supporting the Buyer with category reviews and trading activity.
Helping to create and improve processes across the Buying function.
Managing general Buying administration and responding effectively to ad-hoc priorities.
What We're Looking For
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Confident using Excel.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, particularly when working with suppliers and internal teams.
A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes products successful.
Previous experience working closely with Buying, Merchandising or other cross-functional teams would be beneficial.
Why This Role?
You'll have the opportunity to gain genuine exposure across Buying, NPD, suppliers, Merchandising and E-commerce, with plenty of scope to develop your career within the Buying function. This would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes ownership and wants to build a long-term career in Buying.
