Marketing Manager - Brochures & Publications

Hybrid - Hertfordshire | Salary up to £42k Basic | 12 Month FTC

A leading retail business is seeking an organised and commercially minded Marketing Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end production of customer-facing publications, including brochures, promotional leaflets and seasonal campaigns, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a strategic and operational role focused on bringing creative campaigns to life rather than producing artwork. The successful individual will own the production process from initial brief through to final distribution, working closely with internal Creative teams and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure every publication is delivered on time, within budget and in line with brand standards.

The Marketing Manager will act as the central point of contact for all publication activity, translating marketing objectives into clear creative briefs and coordinating the teams, suppliers and stakeholders required to deliver each project successfully.

The role will suit an experienced project or marketing professional who is highly organised, confident managing multiple priorities and comfortable operating across both strategic and operational detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full production lifecycle for brochures, promotional literature, seasonal flyers and other customer-facing publications, from initial brief through to final distribution.

  • Translate marketing and commercial objectives into clear, inspiring briefs for the internal Creative team.

  • Work collaboratively with designers, photographers and other creative specialists to develop trend-led photography, CGI, imagery and design concepts.

  • Coordinate input from Commercial, Retail Operations, Marketing and other internal stakeholders, ensuring requirements are aligned and delivered to agreed deadlines.

  • Build and maintain robust production schedules, workload trackers and project plans across multiple concurrent publications.

  • Manage the end-to-end print production process, including proofreading, approvals, print specifications and distribution.

  • Own the publications budget, including forecasting, phasing, monitoring and reporting.

  • Manage external print and production suppliers, ensuring quality, cost efficiency and timely delivery.

  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all creative output consistently reflects the organisation's visual identity, tone of voice and brand guidelines.

  • Identify potential production challenges early and proactively manage risks, changes and competing priorities.

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the publication process.

The ideal Marketing Manager will bring:

  • Proven experience managing complex marketing, creative or production projects involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with experience managing detailed production schedules and competing deadlines.

  • The ability to translate strategic marketing objectives into clear and compelling creative briefs.

  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and presenting ideas, plans and project progress.

  • Experience managing print production, external suppliers and associated budgets.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly around proofreading, approvals and process management.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to bring different teams together around a shared objective.

  • A commercially aware and solutions-focused approach to project delivery.

  • A good understanding of design and creative processes; hands-on artwork production experience is not required.

  • Previous experience within retail, design or another fast-paced, highly coordinated environment would be advantageous.

This 12-month fixed-term opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of high-profile marketing activity within a well-established retail environment, with access to learning, development and career progression opportunities.

  • Private medical and life assurance

  • Enhanced contributory pension scheme

  • Colleague discount

  • Discount platform offering savings and cashback across a range of retailers
