Are you an ambitious finance professional who enjoys getting into the detail, loves reconciliations and wants to develop your career within a prestigious luxury retail business?
We're recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a highly respected and growing luxury retailer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong reconciliation experience who's looking to broaden their exposure across stock accounting, month-end and financial reporting.
Whether you've gained your experience within retail, FMCG, manufacturing or another product-based business, if you understand how inventory impacts finance and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
Owning complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
Supporting month-end close and financial reporting.
Working closely with stock and inventory data to ensure financial accuracy.
Reconciling inventory movements and investigating discrepancies.
Supporting stock-related accounting and controls.
Posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
Assisting with audits and year-end processes.
Partnering with colleagues across Finance, Operations and Supply Chain.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Strong bank reconciliation experience.
- Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Senior Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
- Experience working within retail, FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale or another stock-based environment.
- An understanding of inventory or stock accounting (you don't need to be an expert-we're looking for exposure rather than specialist knowledge).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- A desire to continue studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA (or already part-qualified).
Why apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team within a premium retail business where you'll gain exposure to stock accounting, financial reporting and business partnering, with genuine opportunities to continue developing your finance career.
