Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Mechanical Maintenance Technician | Warrington | Up to £35k

A well-established industrial engineering and manufacturing business based in Warrington is looking to recruit a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support its Maintenance Manager in a newly created role.

This position has been created as part of the company's long-term succession planning. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, learning the equipment and processes with the opportunity to develop into a senior maintenance role over time.

This role would suit someone with strong mechanical foundations who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to develop their career within a specialist industrial environment.

Mechanical Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Support the Maintenance Manager with the maintenance and repair of specialised industrial equipment

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and general workshop repairs

• Undertake basic fabrication work including welding, cutting and grinding

• Assist with maintenance of plant machinery and workshop equipment

• Support goods-inwards operations including unloading deliveries using a forklift truck

• Assist with stock control and organisation of maintenance parts

• Ensure safe working practices and maintain good workshop standards

Mechanical Maintenance Requirements:

• Experience maintaining industrial machinery or plant equipment

• Mechanical engineering or mechanical maintenance background

• Basic welding, cutting and grinding skills

• General workshop repair capability

• Basic understanding of electrical systems and safe working practices

• Valid Forklift Truck licence
