Description

Employee Relations Manager | Large, multi-site business

We are partnering with a well-established, fast-paced business to appoint an experienced Employee Relations Manager into a senior, influential role within the People function.

This position sits at the heart of the ER service, acting as the escalation point for complex and high-risk cases, while also supporting the wider People Advice team. It's a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at pace, influencing senior leaders and shaping best practice across a large and diverse organisation.

What you will be doing

  • Acting as the first point of escalation for complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and whistleblowing matters
  • Providing expert, commercially focused advice to senior leaders on high-risk and sensitive cases
  • Managing your own portfolio of senior and complex cases, including those involving senior managers and group functions
  • Supporting business change activity, including redundancy programmes and TUPE processes
  • Overseeing ER governance and ensuring policies remain compliant with UK employment law
  • Coaching and mentoring People Advisors to build capability and confidence
  • Analysing ER data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for proactive intervention
  • Supporting the design and delivery of ER training for managers

They will have/be:

  • Significant ER experience within a complex, fast-paced organisation
  • Experience operating within a centralised ER or advisory model
  • Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law
  • Confident advising senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
  • Experience handling settlement agreements and tribunal preparation
  • Experience supporting organisational change
  • A calm, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
  • CIPD Level 5 is desirable
  • Experience within a unionised environment would be advantageous

Why this role

This is a senior ER position with real visibility and impact. You will have the opportunity to shape service delivery, influence leadership capability and play a key role in driving a consistent and high-quality employee experience across the business.

If you enjoy complex casework, stakeholder influence and leading from the front in employee relations, this could be a strong next step.
