This is a brilliant opportunity for a confident, commercially minded Management Accountant who genuinely loves getting under the skin of the numbers and making a difference.

Our client is a fast‑moving, values‑led business with big ambitions, and they are investing in their finance team to support the next phase of growth. Our client requires a strong Assistant / Management Accountant with at least 3+ years' experience who can take ownership, bring clarity to performance, and be a trusted partner to the wider business.

The Role - What You'll Be Doing

• Preparation of weekly performance reports with insightful analysis and commentary

• Supporting and owning elements of the month‑end management accounts process

• Posting prepayments and accruals

• Balance sheet reconciliations with clear ownership and control

• Management of Fixed Assets including depreciation postings

• Regular review of business costs, challenging and improving cost control

• Partnering with teams across the business to ensure all costs are captured accurately

• Bringing ideas to improve reporting, visibility and decision making

• Daily update and ownership of the cashflow forecast

• Processing of payments and providing cover for the wider finance team when required

• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for review

• Posting VAT adjustments and filing returns with HMRC once approved

• Supporting with year‑end audit and statutory requirements

• ONS reporting

• Reviewing current processes and driving continuous improvement

• Ability to cover bookkeeping tasks when needed

• Being a proactive, positive force within the finance team

What We're Looking For

• Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA

• 3+ years' experience in an Assistant Management Accountant role

• Proven experience supporting the production of management accounts

• Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet control

• Confident using Excel and finance systems

• Naturally inquisitive; you ask questions, seek clarity and want to learn

• Comfortable working at pace in a growing, evolving business

• A team player who communicates well and takes ownership
