Are you a Design graduate looking for your first step into industry? Or already in a Design role but ready for something fresh, fast-paced, and exciting... If so, then this opportunity could be perfect for you.As their Design Assistant, you'll work on exciting new product in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. We're looking for someone motivated, eager to learn, and genuinely passionate about design, fashion, graphic design (apparel), and print.
As the Design Assistant, you will:
Constantly seek out the latest shapes, silhouettes, colours, fabrics, graphics, and print direction for the season
Use platforms such as Drapers, WGSN, catwalk reports, and social media to stay ahead of emerging trends
Build clear, compelling mood boards to communicate trend and print messages
Support with graphics and print design; including logos, placement prints, repeats, and artwork updates
Conduct market research around competitor newness and react quickly by sharing findings and actions with the wider team
Draw and sketch design concepts confidently
Use Photoshop and Illustrator to create design developments, graphics, and print artwork
Bring your designs to life with annotations, callouts, and key design messages
Attend fit sessions alongside the design and buying teams
Support your Senior Designer with internal meetings as well as occasional domestic and international travel
Communicate clearly and professionally with factories and suppliers regarding designs, tech packs, and print artwork
Create and maintain sample management trackers
Track samples and keep initial costings up to date for the wider sales and buying teams
Work closely with product teams for sign-offs, rack-ups, lessons learned sessions, and other cross-functional meetings
Support and take ownership of essential admin tasks including meeting notes, photo updates, and sample management
