Senior E-commerce Executive | Retail | Manchester | up to £45k + bonus
The Senior E-commerce Executive will oversee all aspects of online trading, working cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, and technical teams to enhance functionality, optimise performance, and maximise profitability.
This is a broad and hands-on role where the Senior E-commerce Executive will combine commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for the customer journey to create a seamless and engaging online experience - from product discovery to checkout and beyond.
Key Responsibilities in the Position of Senior E-commerce Executive Include:
Manage the day-to-day trading of the eCommerce site, ensuring product presentation, pricing, and promotional activity deliver commercial impact.
Monitor key performance metrics including conversion rate, AOV, and customer journey behaviour.
Plan and deliver trading campaigns aligned with commercial and seasonal objectives.
Use analytics tools to identify pain points and deliver ongoing UX/UI enhancements.
Oversee digital merchandising and category management to maximise visibility and sales.
Partner with merchandising teams to ensure product data, imagery, and descriptions are accurate and compelling.
Continuously refine navigation, taxonomy, and filters to support intuitive product discovery.
Lead testing and personalisation initiatives to drive conversion rate optimisation.
Champion best practices for mobile experience, accessibility, and site speed.
Collaborate with developers and agencies to implement new features and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Track and report on core metrics such as traffic, conversion, bounce rate, and revenue.
Translate insight into actionable recommendations for commercial and marketing teams.
Forecast sales performance and share insights with senior leadership.
Work closely with the Performance Marketing Lead to align acquisition and conversion strategies.
Support CRM and retention activity through onsite engagement and lifecycle initiatives.
Collaborate with creative, brand, and IT teams to ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints.
To be considered for the position of Senior E-commerce Executive, you will offer:
5+ years' proven in eCommerce management, trading, or digital merchandising; ideally within retail or DTC environments.
Demonstrated success in driving online revenue and improving conversion rates.
Strong understanding of UX principles, customer journey optimisation, and eCommerce analytics.
Skilled in CMS and eCommerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify, or BigCommerce.
Analytical and commercially minded, confident in using Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Excel to interpret data and influence strategy.
Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience managing multiple stakeholders.
Passionate about delivering an exceptional online shopping experience.
