An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven Marketplace Manager to play a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening a fast-growing online marketplace. This position will focus on acquiring, onboarding, and supporting new sellers across key categories, ensuring they are set up for long-term success while driving assortment growth and customer satisfaction.

The Marketplace Manager will be responsible for sourcing sellers that align with strategic objectives, analysing opportunities in the market, and managing the full seller journey - from initial outreach through to seamless onboarding. Working closely with internal teams, the role will also ensure compliance, strong performance tracking, and a robust pipeline of new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and attract new sellers across priority categories, building a pipeline that supports long-term growth.

  • Design and deliver seller acquisition strategies to hit ambitious commercial targets.

  • Conduct competitor and market research to highlight opportunities and strengthen positioning.

  • Partner with the wider team to identify new categories or segments with growth potential.

  • Lead the onboarding process, including vetting, compliance checks, and product listing management.

  • Provide dedicated support during the first 4-6 months of onboarding to ensure smooth integration.

  • Transition sellers to account management teams once established, highlighting key insights and performance indicators.

  • Represent the marketplace at industry events, webinars, and trade shows to attract prospective sellers.

  • Track KPIs and report on seller acquisition, performance, and revenue impact.

  • Deliver training and workshops to help sellers maximise success on the platform.

  • Mentor and manage team members to maintain high standards and drive results.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in business development, sales, or acquisition within a marketplace or e-commerce setting.

  • Knowledge of seller compliance processes and onboarding practices.

  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of retail and online selling dynamics.

  • Confident communicator and negotiator, capable of pitching persuasively to new sellers.

  • Analytical and data-driven, with excellent Excel skills (formulas, graphs, reporting).

  • Familiarity with marketplace technology platforms (e.g. Mirakl) is advantageous.

  • Highly organised, with strong prioritisation skills and attention to detail.

  • Collaborative and professional team player, with the ability to influence across functions.

This role is ideal for a motivated Marketplace Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a tangible impact on seller growth, customer offering, and overall marketplace performance.
