A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Management Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, values ownership, and wants to make a real impact in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in producing timely and accurate management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing insightful analysis to drive business performance. You'll work closely with operational teams, helping to translate financial data into actionable insights and supporting the business as it continues to invest and grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Analyse variances and provide clear commentary to support business decisions.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with operational and project teams.
- Maintain and improve financial models, ensuring robust and reliable data for reporting and planning.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the business to drive process improvements and ensure strong financial controls.
- Support the preparation of board packs and management reports.
- Liaise with auditors and assist with audit preparation as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
About You
- Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Previous experience in management accounting, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, or a project-based environment.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to deadlines.
- A genuine team player who enjoys collaborating and driving improvements.
