As the Food Department Manager, you'll take full ownership of operations, team leadership, and commercial performance. You'll be the driving force behind creating an exceptional shopping experience, ensuring high standards across fresh, ambient, chilled, and seasonal categories.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead from the front as the department's Food Manager, inspiring your team with clear goals and energetic leadership
Set and maintain exceptional standards of service, availability, and food quality
Take full responsibility for achieving KPIs, driving sales, and managing margins
Make commercial decisions that increase profitability and improve the customer journey
Create a standout environment that delivers freshness, efficiency, and visual excellence
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team with clear succession planning
We're Looking For:
A proven Food Manager or department leader with experience in a high-volume food retail environment (supermarket, convenience, or wholesale)
Strong understanding of compliance, food safety, stock control, and availability
Passionate about food, fresh standards, and delivering outstanding customer experiences
Commercially sharp, operationally excellent, and confident making data-driven decisions
An energetic people-leader who can coach, inspire, and grow a strong team
