Description

Zachary Daniels Recruitment are delighted to partner with a renowned retailer in their search for a skilled Group Procurement Manager to oversee their Property and (small) GNFR (Goods Not for Resale) procurement activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organization, responsible for managing property services and store consumables procurement at a group-wide level.

About the Role:

As the Group Procurement Manager, you will be at the heart of shaping and executing the procurement strategy for property-related services (such as maintenance, facilities management, and capital expenditure projects) and essential store consumables (including cleaning supplies, packaging, and stationery). You will be expected to deliver optimal value, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure high-quality standards across all procurement activities, while supporting the company's broader strategic goals.

This role is pivotal to achieving operational excellence and aligning procurement practices with the overall business objectives of the wider group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Design and implement procurement strategies for property services and consumables to drive cost savings, quality improvements, and efficiency. Align all activities with sustainability goals, legal regulations, and the Group's overarching procurement procedures.
  • Supplier Management: Build and nurture relationships with suppliers of property services (maintenance, capex, facilities management) and consumables (cleaning products, packaging, stationery) to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery. Negotiate favourable terms and contracts to maximize value for the company.
  • Cost Optimization & Budget Management: Stay ahead of market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities. Manage procurement budgets effectively, ensuring all purchases align with financial objectives, and report on savings and performance regularly.
  • Inventory & Demand Planning: Collaborate with internal teams (store managers, property teams, supply chain) to forecast demand and ensure supply chain efficiency for consumables and property services.
  • Contract & Risk Management: Oversee contract drafting, negotiation, and renewals to ensure compliance with company standards. Identify risks within the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing delays.
  • Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical sourcing, sustainability practices, and regulatory compliance. Lead initiatives to source eco-friendly consumables and sustainable property services, in line with the company's environmental objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with internal departments such as operations, property, finance, and business support to align procurement with business requirements and resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Personnel Development: Continuously develop your professional skills, receive feedback, and seek opportunities for career progression within the GNFR team.

The Ideal Candidate:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on property services and consumables, preferably within the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Proven experience in managing large budgets and collaborating with multiple suppliers across various categories.
  • A deep understanding of the retail industry and macroeconomic market trends.
  • Strong expertise in procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain management.
  • High proficiency in MS Office and excellent written and spoken English.
  • A clear understanding of ethical procurement practices and compliance standards.

Why Join?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a high-performing team and take on a critical role in a well-established and growing business. You will have the chance to make a significant impact, work with top-tier suppliers, and lead key procurement initiatives across the group.
