I am working with an impressive consumer business that sits proudly in the health and wellbeing category, they supply high quality, professional products to a range of retailers worldwide. This role has been created due to the continued success of their UK business and the growth of the company in general.


They are looking to expand their current sales team by adding a National Account Manager who will gain and develop new key accounts as well as managing some existing ones.

The role will be field based with regular Warrington office attendance minimum 4 days per month. Will require overnight stays in Warrington or at HO in Germany. General working would be field based visiting customers when required on a regular basis.


Duties and Responsibilities within the role

Customer/company Internal Relationships

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships within the customer.
  • Manage and resolve conflicts between the customer and the business
  • Meet customer time deadlines.
  • Facilitate strong links between the internal team and 'the customer'.
  • Develop and maintain proactive relationships with the internal team.


Business Development

  • Identify profitable business opportunities and convert into sales.
  • Negotiate prices within guidelines.
  • To build and negotiate commercial terms within guidelines.
  • To prepare the groundwork for breaking into new national accounts, with which the Company has not yet conducted any meaningful business.
  • To ensure confidentiality and appropriate use of customer information
  • To attend and contribute to sales meetings, to discuss proposals for business development

Business Planning and forecasting

  • Ability to build a comprehensive business planning document with a specific customer with which to support reaching the company targets.
  • Accurate and regular recording and file keeping as required
  • Using customer information and internal historical information to forecast in a responsible way to ensure customer satisfaction and that the company do not hold an unacceptable level of stock.


Product/Market/other Knowledge

  • To maintain a high degree of knowledge on market products and promotional activity.
  • To maintain an excellent knowledge of the product portfolio.
  • Where required attendance of trade shows, trade fairs & specific functions in the UK or overseas.
  • As a team member to contribute to the overall success of the team and the Company goals by maintaining regular attendance, punctuality, focus and professionalism at all times
  • Maintain a tidy work area and report any health and safety issues to the Group Health and Safety Manager.
  • Adhere to all Company processes, procedures, policies and standards.
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably required that are consistent with both training and expertise.


Desired Skills and experience


I am looking to engage with experienced Key Account or National Account Managers used to visiting customers, they would have a demonstrated history opening and developing new retail relationships as well as managing those relationships and the strategy for the business long term.


· Strong communicator both verbal and written at all levels.

· Excellent negotiation skills.

· Highly self motivated with a pro active attitude.

· The ability to manage time and priorities effectively and efficiently.

· Team player, and the ability to encourage the same throughout the team.

· Strong account management and relationship building skills.

· Experienced NAM/representative in the role.

· Full, clean driving licence.

· Strong sales pedigree.

· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word PowerPoint, including the design and manipulation of data into fairly complex spreadsheets.


The company are a solid, stable, growing business that are able to offer the flexibility of working from home/ in the field the majority of the time. They offer a competitive salary, car allowance and a bonus of up to 20%. They have a trusting culture and in the UK a smaller close knit team with the support of a larger parent business elsewhere in Germany.
