Payroll Manager

Permanent

£38,000 - £40,000 + Bonus + Fantastic Benefits

 

Zachary Daniels are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager to join fantastic and well established business. Managing a Payroll Assistant and with view of growing your team. You will ensure as a team, timelines are kept. Deliver to the business accurate Payroll and Pensions support and ensure Payroll is run on time.
 
The role
 
You will be responsible for working with the outsourced payroll bureau and ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time for 3 payrolls. You will also be responsible for dealing with and resolving any queries related to Payroll.
  • Manage and ensure payroll input and documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Calculate back pay and part period payments where job changes have a mid period effective date.
  • Checking the timely submission of the stores and chase up on late returns
  • Run the payroll interface for the distributions centre monthly
  • Remove leavers from the system.
  • Run reports and review necessary data validation i.e. missing NI numbers and bank account details prior to any payroll run
  • Ensure as a team, all queries from employees on matters of employee data, pay and tax, and external agencies such as tax authorities, banks and government organisations via telephone, letter or email
  • Training and 121's to ensure ongoing development to your Payroll Administrator

Key skills & requirements needed

  • Minimum 5 years Payroll Experience
  • Management experience - Essential
  • Experienced of manually calculate a payslip
  • Experienced in payroll principles relating to the calculation of up to gross and gross to net pay & Tax and NI principles including end of year requirements
  • Good knowledge of payroll timetables
  • Excellent attention to detail and administrative skills
  • Computer literate with an intermediate level of capability in Microsoft Excel
  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion
