Accounts Payable Assistant | 6 Mth FTC

We are very exciting to be working with a leading energy company which is passionate about our environment. Our client is also listed within the Top Employers to work for and has ambitious growth plans! Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to support the team during a very busy period.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a very fast paced team, be a key support to the Accounts Payable team and make an impact. As the Accounts Payable Assistant, this important contract is to support the team with high volume invoicing and smooth running within the team.
The role
  • Reporting into the Accounts Payable Manager
  • Collaborating closely with suppliers, including validating supplier account information, raising and resolving invoice queries and completing supplier account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for investigating draft invoices and supplier statements and completing regular supplier statement reconciliations for key suppliers.
  • Point of contact to answer internal queries and guiding in best practice in regard to Purchase orders and AP automation.
  • Ensure external suppliers maintain a positive relationship at all times
  • Assisting with monthly ledger reconciliations for Accounts Payable and Receivable and investigating ageing items and balances
  • Assisting with annual audit queries
  • Creating customer invoices for trade and commercial partners
  • Assisting with the accurate and timely payment of customer refunds.
  • Reviewing and responding to all tickets via the finance team's external service desk system and raising where required

Key skills

  • AAT qualifications aren't necessary but they're a bonus!
  • Minimum 1 years Finance experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate, timely data input
  • Good workload management skills - planning, prioritising and completing tasks
  • Great IT proficiency, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and G-Suite, including Docs and Excel
