Senior Finance Manger | Global Luxury Fashion Brands - 12 Month FTC (Mat Cover) - Remote working | London - £65,000 - £68,000 - November Start Date

We are proud to be supporting our client with recruiting an experienced Finance Manager to support on a fixed term contract. You will play an integral role in the general accounting team, being the 'go to' person for all general accounting matters relating to EMEA.

Managing a team of five, the role will take full responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of accounting for the retail, wholesale and ecommerce business, and will be a valued business partner to multiple departments. The individual will be responsible for the review of general accounting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and support internal / external audits as required.

The key tasks and responsibilities for the role are as follows:

  • Owning and managing the close process for the Europe retail, wholesale and ecommerce business;
  • Overseeing the general accounting team by managing a team of five, including four direct reports;
  • Assisting in maintaining and improving our internal controls and processes;
  • Responsibility for SOX compliance for the general accounting team;
  • Building close working relationships with the FP&A team and cross business partners;
  • Working closely with the Corporate Accounting department to clear technical matters and prepare quarterly reporting packs;
  • Managing general accounting related audit queries; and
  • Working closely with the Europe Controller to support new projects and provide business support.

  • Stay up to date with accounting or corporate policy changes to understand the accounting and process impact for Europe
  • Multi-task under tight deadlines and have a strong sense of urgency

Key Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years+ PQE accounting experience at multinational public company or major accounting firm
  • Experience of managing a team - Essential
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Experience with US GAAP - Not essential
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, highly motivated
  • Ability to multi task and be flexible regarding changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to perform critical analysis and thinking, prioritise and problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
